"Once I tried to transfer V. Hlebnikova's poetry by music. We played Days of White China. Here there were times. In a new album�Jazz Virus �I think on the contrary, texts and a voice - an essence of our new music. Especially in places of deviations from harmonies. I love deviations. The album is written down quickly - for three months. The jazz virus was installed in us. In this time we had time to break everything that has been saved up before. Certainly, there is a chance at such approach to lose our fans. But what to do, it is much more important - probably we�ll find new. And we already recover".

The new album by Utrovortu is a tribute to the girlish disco-punk band STRAKHUIDYOT, which performed in St Petersburg some time ago. While recording the disc the musicians have torn the funny mocking songs to bits - lively guitar riffs reincarnated into grinding sounds of prehistoric synthesizers, and the rock-n-rolling keyboards were replaced by the dull heavy thumps of obscure nature. The jolly songs which just made you go twisting and shouting around your slightly drunk girlfriend can now throw a careless listener to the floor with his ears bleeding, watching guitar roulades and strange distant noises flow through the sound fiber. Some unsophisticated music for those who walk through the night and wash their feet in sound.

The creative association "Utrovortu" formed in St. Petersburg some years ago. Its core was the band "Golubi i bezumnye kashevary" ("The Pigeons and the Insane Porridgemakers"), a large body of people performing at the interface between music and experimental poetry.

Staff Benda Bilili - Tres Tres Fort (2011)

Critically acclaimed by the press, Tres Tres Fort is for sure an album not to miss from 2011. Staff Benda Bilili is a group formed by homeless and disabled polio victims living in the grounds of Kinshasa Zoo. Their music combines reggae, rumba, soul and funk with traditional African rhythms as accessibly and joyously as Bob Marley or Buena Vista Social Club. The songs were recorded out in the open, using a dozen microphones, a MacBook and a 100m extension cord fraudulously connected to a deserted refreshment bar nearby. A inspiring movie about Staff Benda Bilili has recently been released.

Aurora is a second full-length album by Nice Wings, Icarus! � post-metal\progressive rock band from Kiev, Ukraine. This time tunes sound far more confident and sometimes � experimental, and we`re not talking about tracks timing.

Formed in February 2008 by Yuriy Nagorniy (guitar) and Yuriy Kasyanenko (drums), NICE WINGS, ICARUS! played their first live show ten months later, with Sergiy Zaika (guitar), Vadim Matuzenko (bass) and Daniil Grudzinskiy (violin) being the official members of the band as well. They shape their material during 2009, bearing influences from TOOL, ENVY, PELICAN, ISIS and some other bands, but never imitating someone�s manner or sound.
