Has Joxfield ProjeX become a Big Band with all these guests? And is this The White Album of Joxfield ProjeX? The answer is No on both questions. When we were about to start our new recording sessions in 2007 we had decided we wanted to bring our music into territories where we had never been before. To do so we wanted to involve other people and asked around amongst artists we liked and respected and to whom we could direct a mission - contribute to our music in an open-minded and creative way. Most of those we asked generously brought their inspiration to us and went into the project, sometimes for a specific track, sometimes for many of them.
Very quick we realised it was a huge project and when it all was finished we had about 2� hours of music we didn�t want to split up. That�s why it�s a 3 disc set. The variation of the music is the variation of our minds, that�s how we are. For those who care Disc A - Abstract Numbers is maybe a bit introvert, reflective and the Discs B & C - Concrete Letters A-Z might seem extrovert, a little bit more easy-going.
Most of the music is recorded in 2007 with lots of additional recordings, editing and treatments in 2007 - 2010.

Joxfield ProjeX is still the duo Oax and Yan playing their instruments, programming stuff, adding whatever they find reasonable to add, edit and treat.
What about the guests? Most of them do have a long and deep history of success with various bands etc, but instead of fooling both you and them and pretend this music here sounds like anything what they�ve done with those constellations we suggest you check �em up by your own.

�Intense� is probably the word most frequently used to the describe the Gaslamp Killer. His Gaslamp Killers mix helps to explain why � it�s a deranged and blunted jag full of psychedelic beats, trip hop, and creepy vocal samples. Flying Lotus recently called this his favorite mix of all-time, and after that, the recommendation seems superfluous. This is an old mix consisting of older parts, but like all great mixes it sounds brand new. Playlist features various artist from very diverse horizons such as Jazzanova, Pete Rock, Radiohead, Company Flow, Mr Oizo, Dj Krush, Sixtoo or Porishead.

J-Live - First Things First Vol3

This is the latest installment of the mixtape series "First Things First". Like the previous two, Volume 3 is a mix of quality hip hop, both old and new. All of the songs are the first real song on their respective albums. As always, "skits and interludes not included". First Things First Vol 3 is both mixed and hosted by DJ J-Live, with assistance and guest drops from super producer J-Live, and emcee extraordinaire J-live. While they were busy plugging their new 6 song EP "Undivided Attention" (on vinyl and digital November 2nd) they also took time out to correct a mistake made on Volume 2. A view from the forest is a collection of short and longer improvisations. Using subtle rhythms and spare instrumentation I have aimed to create an interesting and peaceful sonic environment. The improvisations attempt to create a complex harmony utilizing as little musical expression as possible.

Max Sipowicz manipulates sound. Blending layer upon layer upon layer upon layer of sound, he creates a musical environment which surrounds and captures the listener at the most intimate level. Often dancing between a primitivistic, stripped back sound and an amalgamation of noise. A captivating performer, he feels his music is best presented in small, intimate venues, where he can have absolute control over the soundscape.
