"You'll be stoned by these guys from Saint-Petersburg, Russia. The band was formed at the end of 2008 with the guys getting together at a studio for a jam. They got carried away in the moment. This resulted in two demo tracks. Then they invited Ivan Ponkin to name the gig Riff Action Family [R.A.F.]. They are the first musicians who tried to play experimental English rock in Russia. The band began to actively rehearse, hence, created a concert program. By the summer 2009, there was enough material for a full vibrant statement and during that summer for the first time, they played at the festival Air-2009. This was followed by events in St. Petersburg and Moscow, performing at various full-fledged festivals. In 2010 R.A.F. presented debut EP From Russia With Love. The debut album contains wicked four full-length tracks which demonstrate the band's choice versatility. By listening to the tracks, you don't know what awaits you around the corner..."

Juguetes (toys) is the first album of Nno, a look back at the nostalgia of childhood, the dreams, the noises, the feelings and the thoughs of the child we were back in our infancy. Built half-way between neo-classic sounds, noise and electronica, is a reflexion of everything we were, everything we have lost, everything we can remember, what we are now, and everything that will continue with us until the day we die.
About Nno:
Nno is born at the beginning of March, 2008, with the meeting of two musicians, Nacho, from "Bosques de mi Mente", and Nacho, the guitar player from Emerge, thanks to an ad in the internet. They both share a common view on music and the need to create a sound capable of expressing feelings, paint scenes the impressionistic way and bring thoughts, abstract or not, from the past or an unlikely future, to your mind. They also have a feeling for experimentation and a love for toy instruments. With childhood and innocence as palette, they start to "paint" compositions merging classical minimalist music, electronic, folk, ambient, noise, postrock and whatever other style that comes to mind. Some months later Sergio joins the band, bringing a new fresh air of classical melody, and a bit later Dario, in charge of transmuting sound into images and films, joins also. After the guitar player's departure, some guitarist line-up changes occur during 2009, until finally Raul joins Nno, bringing with him a blow of fresh air to the band.
Nno makes its first appearance in concert at the "CHill Bill" on the 5th of June of 2009.
Images are as important as music in Nno, because they both coexist in harmony and one gives meaning to the other. We recommend you to look for the Nno videos and enjoy Nno in its entirety.
Nacho (Bosques de mi Mente): Piano, keyboards, xilophone, toy piano, found sounds, background noise.
Sergio: violin, xilophones, melodic noise.
Raul (Klaus Reza): guitar, xilophone, electronic noise.
Dario (VJ Bocho): film projections, electronics, visual noise.
---

This work uses as a launching point advanced theories of artistic perspective- namely by the French mathematician and painter Jean Francois Niceron, who wrote about the anamorphic distortion of images in the 17th century. Anamorphosis is the art of geometrically distorting a painting, drawing, etc., to the point at which it becomes unrecognizable. The distorted image can then only be seen correctly by viewing it from an unusual vantage point, such as from an extremely narrow angle of vision. The use of mirrors to both distort images and correct image distortions is key to many anamorphic works. This music is both an homage to Niceron and an exploration of mirror-image dualities and distortions, geometric deviations, and altered perspectives both artistic and psychological.
The recording was conceived as two distinct and complementary album "sides": Side A is a suite of related pieces, meant to be listened to in a single, unbroken sequence. The tracks on side A are dense, richly layered, and tending towards dark and vexing emotional states. Side B, conversely, consists of individual tracks, not directly related to one another. Though many of them restate material from Side A, they are lighter, more sparse, and more 'ambient' in nature.
The music is inspired by the research of Professor Agostino De Rosa, and the Imago Rerum group of University IUAV (Venice)
Joe Frawley (b. July 4, 1971) is an experimental composer & pianist, working out of New London, Connecticut, whose works blur the boundary between music and sound art. By layering and juxtaposing original music with processed found sounds, field recordings, and recontextualized speech fragments, the composer creates challenging yet accessible sound assemblages bearing a hypnotic dreamlike quality.
